| Abstract | A mudança nos hábitos da sociedade, devido a situação de pandemia, muitos relacionadas à aplicação do isolamento social, vem promovendo novas dinâmicas ambientais. Com o objetivo de analisar a concentração de dióxido de nitrogênio (NO2) na atmosfera urbana de Teresina-PI a partir das taxas de isolamento social, e como pode influenciar no aumento dos casos e óbitos confirmados de COVID-19. Os resultados apontam que o baixo isolamento é diretamente proporcional ao aumento de NO2 na atmosfera, e ainda que, a Zona Norte da Capital apresentou os maiores níveis de NO2 no período estudado de 120 dias. Consoante a essa realidade, o número de casos e óbitos acumulados nessa zona de Teresina é o maior da cidade. Este estudo mostra ainda que o monitoramento do NO2 a partir de sensoriamento remoto é uma opção viável para monitoramento da COVID-19, mesmo que indiretamente, pois pode apontar os locais com menor isolamento social e consequentemente locais com aumento no número de casos. ABSTRACT: The change in society's habits due to the pandemic situation related by the application of social isolation has promoted new dynamics especially in urban environments. The aim of this study was to analyze the concentration of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the urban atmosphere of Teresina-PI from the social isolation rates that have influence the increase in cases and deaths confirmed of COVID-19 made available by the Municipal Health Foundation (FMS) from Teresina. The obtained results has proved that the low isolation is directly proportional to the increase of NO2 in the atmosphere and the North Zone of Teresina presented throughout the period (120 days) the highest levels of NO2. According to that the number of cases and deaths accumulated in these zone is the largest of Teresina. This study demonstrated that analyzing the NO2 concentration from remote sensing is a viable option even indirectly for monitoring the evolution of COVID-19. Once that delimit the areas with less social isolation consequently that have outbreaks of cases of disease. |
